While Triple Hwas with Michelle McCool in Japan recently doing promotional work for WWE, he pushed Evan Bourne and Jack Swagger as the company’s best new talents. He may have had something to do with them coming to the RAW brand in the trade this week.

Raw’s first match with Batista as “special guest host” saw The Game, still suffering from his Three Stages of Hell Match against Randy Orton the night before at The Bash, take on the dynamic MVP. In spite of The Ballin’ Superstar’s momentum in recent weeks and The Game’s injuries, Triple H rose to the challenge, defeating MVP to move ahead in the Night of Champions Tournament.

Pay Per View Results: The Bash

Triple H went into the WWE Championship Three Stages of Hell Match with a distinct advantage over Randy Orton, having competed in – and won – the only two contests of that type before tonight’s Bash. Ultimately, however, courtesy of a win by disqualification and some help from his Legacy, it was Randy Orton who emerged victorious from this hellish competition, the WWE Title still secure around his waist.

Attempting to use Triple H’s recent injury against him, Orton focused his attacks on The Game’s left leg. But knowing that he was only required to win two out of three falls to defeat his nemesis, The King of Kings disqualified himself during the first Stage of Hell, a standard wrestling match, by repeatedly clobbering Orton with a steel chair. The Game may have given up the first match, but in doing so he dealt out some serious damage to The Viper.

The next contest, a Falls Count Anywhere Match, began with Orton laid out, clearly still suffering from the assault. And after further brutalizing his opponent with more chair shots and a Pedigree outside the ring, The Cerebral Assassin wasted no time in pinning The Viper to even up the score at 1-1.

The tiebreaker would be the Third Stage of Hell, making use of one of WWE’s most brutal stipulations, a Stretcher Match. The two sworn enemies attacked one another like rabid animals, attempting to do enough damage that their battered opponent might be placed on a stretcher and wheeled up the ramp. As Orton lay motionless in the stretcher and Triple H pushed his nemesis toward victory, the competitors were joined by Orton’s Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. The Legend Killer’s minions proceeded to overcome The Game with a numbers advantage, allowing their mentor time to get away from the gurney.

Before long, however, momentum shifted in The Cerebral Assassin’s favor once again, as he retrieved his signature sledgehammer. But as Triple H systematically dispatched Rhodes & DiBiase, the coiled Viper struck, assaulting The Game with a steel grate and wheeling him across the finish line to retain his WWE Title. The battered and exhausted WWE Champion was afforded little time for celebration, though, as a furious Triple H lashed out, leveling Orton with his sledgehammer in an attempt to show who the true King of Kings is.

The Bash Preview: June 28, 2009

There are few things in this world more precious to Randy Orton than the WWE Championship. Unfortunately for the reigning champion, he’s hardly the only one who harbors such affinity for WWE’s most prized possession. Triple H, his opponent at The Bash, has also been known to pine for the cherished gold – and to stop at nothing to obtain it. The WWE Champion and his opponent share a long and tumultuous history that spans nearly a decade. Most recently, their animosity reached tragic proportions when Orton and his Legacy henchmen Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase began systematically targeting the McMahon family, including Triple H’s wife, Stephanie.

After decimating the most storied family in the history of the squared-circle, the WWE Champion snuffed out their last shining light when he punted the skull of The Game at Backlash. In the wake of the devastating kick, Triple H wasn’t seen or heard from for weeks. That is, until the WWE Universe witnessed the return of The King of Kings to Monday Night Raw.

The animosity was palpable when Triple H confronted WWE Champion Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match just six days before the two face off at The Bash. So thick hung the mutual disdain that neither man was willing to give an inch against his nemesis. In fact, when the referee counted to 10, both Orton and Triple H were so damaged that neither was able to answer the count, resulting in a draw and Orton retaining the title. After the match was called, however, The Game, despite an injured knee, was still hungry to punish Orton and took a final shot at him before referees pulled him away.

After RAW Went Off Air
Filed under: General News. Posted by Kierra. Reply: 1 comment »

After RAW went off the air Triple H posed for the crowd and threw his arm pads out to the crowd. When Triple H threw one of the pads to one section, a scuffle broke out among that section of fans and a young boy was knocked over to the floor and the boy appeared to be upset. Triple H saw the whole thing and went and picked up the boy out of the crowd and brought him into the ring to do a pose down with Triple H.

Triple H goofed around with the camera guy acting like he was going to hit him with a chair and the camera guy got curled up in a ball on the floor. After that, as all the announcers were making their way up the ramp, Triple H grabbed JR’s cowboy hat and Triple H put it on and started acting like a cowboy. Triple H then gave the hat to Cole who wore it for five seconds and gave it back to JR. Triple H and the announcers did a final pose down on stage and took a bow before leaving.

On the previous Raw, Batista opened the show proudly displaying his first-ever WWE Championship, which he won the night before at Extreme Rules. His reign would prove to be a short and painful one, however, as he was viciously attacked by Randy Orton and his Legacy. The assault seriously injured The Animal’s left arm, resulting in the WWE Title being vacated. To determine a new champion, a Fatal Four Way took place between four of Raw’s most dominant Superstars: Triple H, John Cena, Big Show and The Viper, Randy Orton himself. The Legend Killer showed the WWE Universe that he thrives in chaos by taking advantage of the hectic match to pin Big Show and regain the WWE Championship.

Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase competed in Raw’s 10-Man Battle Royal with their primary goal being to prevent certain people from earning a WWE Title opportunity, one of which was no doubt their mentor Randy Orton’s nemesis, Triple H. The Legacy members and The Game collided in Raw’s main event along with John Cena, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Big Show, Matt Hardy, The Miz and William Regal. With so many powerful ring warriors present, harboring so much ill will toward one another, the match could have gone anyone’s way. However, Triple H was fighting not only for the WWE Title, but a chance to gain retribution for the torment Orton has wrought on him and his family. That added motivation, coupled with the amazing in-ring abilities of The Game was enough to ensure his victory, and his place at The Bash.

As Triple H celebrated and WWE Champion Randy Orton looked on nervously from the stage, the festivities were interrupted by Raw’s new owner, Donald Trump. The billionaire celebrity congratulated The Game and then announced that the WWE Universe wouldn’t need to wait until The Bash to see The Viper defend the WWE Title against The Cerebral Assassin, as the two would be facing off against one another on the next Raw in a Last Man Standing Match.
