EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – While no man is an island, Triple H certainly appeared adrift in unfamiliar waters when he opened Raw. The Superstar explained that, unlike the remainder of the red brand’s roster, he had remained stateside during Raw’s European tour. He explained that, due to the volcanic ash over Europe, air travel has been disrupted grounding most of his Raw brethren across the Atlantic.

The Game then went on to discuss his Street Fight against Sheamus this Sunday at Extreme Rules before he was rudely interrupted by The Straight Edge Society, including Luke Gallows, Serena and leader CM Punk. After Punk and Triple H exchanged words regarding Punk’s pay-per-view bout against Rey Mysterio, the preachy provocateur demanded that The King of Kings convert to Straight Edge. Triple H didn’t take too kindly to the proselytizing, and he and The S.E.S. came to blows. That’s when Mysterio joined the fray. The Biggest Little Man helped beat back The S.E.S. and, in a possible foreshadowing of their bout at Extreme Rules, managed to snip a lock of Punk’s hair in the process.

Just six days until Extreme Rules, a battalion of the pay-per-view’s competitors converged in a Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting Rey Mysterio, Edge & Triple H against CM Punk, Chris Jericho & Luke Gallows. In the run-up to the highly anticipated Steel Cage Match, Edge faced down his former partner Jericho, who punished his rival by crushing his ankle. Punk also sent Mysterio a message in the lead up to their Extreme Rules contest.

The match’s conclusion, however, seemed fitting since it was Raw Superstar Triple H who led his team to victory by pinning SmackDown’s Straight Edge spiritual guide, CM Punk.

MOLINE, Ill. – One week after he remorselessly blasted Triple H from behind with a lead pipe during Triple H’s emotional goodbye to Shawn Michaels, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus went one-on-one with Kofi Kingston in the opening match of the night! Following the Celtic Crucifix Powerbomb, the dominant Sheamus was able to pick up the win over Kofi Kingston! After the match, Sheamus grabs the same lead pipe he used on Triple H last week and cracked a helpless Kofi in the back of the head with the foreign object!

Following the attack, Sheamus says his chance to defend the WWE Title at WrestleMania was taken away by Triple H, so that is why he laid out Triple H last week! Sheamus then calls Triple H and the fans pathetic for shedding tears last week when Shawn Michaels retired from the WWE! Sheamus then says that the legendary Michaels left the WWE so that he would not have to face The Celtic Warrior! Sheamus then says that he does not believe that Triple H does not have one great match left in him and gives Triple H the ultimatum to either leave with his head held high or be put in a wheel chair!

This brings out Triple H, who stoically makes his way to the ring and gets on the apron of the ring before dropping from the apron to grab his trusty sledgehammer! The sledgehammer of Triple H trumps the lead pipe of Sheamus as Triple H knocks the lead pipe out of Sheamus’ grasp before blasting Sheamus in the mid-section with the signature sledgehammer! This knocks Sheamus out of the ring and, after narrowly avoiding a skull-crushing sledgehammer shot, Sheamus escaped through the crowd! There is no doubt that this is not the last we will see between Triple H & Sheamus, but what will happen the next time these two powerhouses are in the same ring at the same time?

PHOENIX – One night after narrowly defeating The Irishman on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Triple H addressed the WWE Universe. He wanted to make clear that he would be honoring his best friend, Shawn Michaels, after his D-Generation X cohort lost his Streak vs. Career Match against The Undertaker the night before. As The Game opened up about his pal, Sheamus stomped down and attacked before leaving with a satisfied smirk on his mug.

It didn’t seem real. How could it? How could Shawn Michaels, after an unparalleled 25-year career, really be saying goodbye? After losing his Streak vs. Career Match against The Undertaker, however, that’s precisely what happened.

Emotions ran high throughout the WWE Universe as The Deadman entered the U.S. Airways Center and tipped his hat to the opponent that came closest to ending his WrestleMania winning streak. After that show of respect, HBK entered to a standing ovation to address the crowd. He thanked his friend Triple H, Mr. McMahon, Bret Hart, his family and the WWE Universe for the greatest ride of his life. And for the final time, he said with tears in his eyes, “Ladies and gentlemen, The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, has left the building.”

SAN JOSE, Calif. – There hasn’t been this much animosity between partners since Tiger Woods’ last marriage counseling session. Triple H was forced to team with his despised enemy, Randy Orton, when the two faced off against their respective WrestleMania opponents, Sheamus as well as Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match.

Before the bout, Rhodes and DiBiase, who will face one another – along with The Viper – in a Triple Threat Match, made it clear that their alliance had frayed somewhat. During the match, Orton nearly punished Rhodes for his seeming betrayal, but the Irishman kicked him square in the jaw, sending him to the canvas and pinning him for the win. His WrestleMania foe was sure to send a message, though, as The Game sent Sheamus over the top rope.
